Who we are

We are a husband and wife team with over 30 years of experience in the food industry in different continents and in varied cuisines. We also have 40 years of experience in living in togetherness.

Drawing inspiration from time honored traditions of Indian and other cuisines our ready to eat meals are a testament to the fusion of ancient flavors and spices with contemporary needs and convenience.

At Awaken foods, we place premium on crafting meals that exude indulgent flavors and uphold the virtues of health, wellness and nourishment.

Dimple Bakshi and Sumesh Bakshi are the founders of Awaken meals. They have successfully managed restaurants, banquets and a catering business in India and the USA.

Having closely worked with the local community in Southern Oregon, Sumesh and Dimple understand the unique taste preferences and health needs of our customers. Their restaurants have been providing meals during  challenging times like to the fire affected after the Almeda fire and to the less fortunate homeless since the Covid pandemic.

Since 3 years they have been making the ready to eat meals for those in need. Of course these endeavors have been supported by Government organizations. They are grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this noble effort. This experience, they say, gave birth to this venture as the need of providing healthy affordable, nutritious meals was recognized by them.

Sumesh and Dimples knowledge of Ayurveda and the beneficial traditional spices coupled with a deep understanding of American palates and preferences is a significant advantage.
